PAYMENT

Bodywork Denver accepts payment in cash and credit cards, including Health Savings Account (HSA) debit cards.   Note that credit cards charge Bodywork Denver a variable fee to process payments. Accordingly, Bodywork Denver will asks that the customer consider adding a 3.5% gratuity to all credit card purchases, with the exception of gift cards. This tip is optional and can be discussed with Dave at the time of payment. Payment is due at the time of service. For customer convenience, prepayment is available during online scheduling, with the optional 3.5% gratuity included. Pricing is listed on the online scheduler page.  All prepayments (gift certificates or online scheduling) must be redeemed within one year, otherwise the purchaser forfeits the entirety of the payment.

LATE POLICY

Dave understands that life happens, but he also respects the time and need of punctuality for all his clients.  If a client shows up late to an appointment, Dave will make a reasonable attempt to give that person the full session length.  However often this is not possible due to later appointments in the day, which must remain on time.  A client who is 10 minutes late may expect to receive a 10-minute shortened session at the full session price. The session may be cancelled if the client is 15 or more minutes late.

NO-SHOW AND LATE CANCELLATION

Proper notification time for a cancellation is greater than 24 hours from the session time. A first-time client who does not arrive for their appointment or cancel within 24-hours may be denied the ability to schedule future appointments.  A repeat customer who cancels within 24-hours of their appointment time will be given a one-time exception with no payment due.  In all cases, a full payment is due for a no-call, no-show. This policy allows Dave to attempt to reschedule that empty slot, which would otherwise cost him lost profit opportunity. All payments (either gift certificates or prepayment) will be honored for one year for bodywork, after which time the purchaser forfeits the payment for non-use.

OUTCALLS

Outcall (or House Call) appointments are available for an additional travel charge.  They are available upon request once Dave has established a relationship with that client. To request an outcall, contact Dave.

TIPPING

After feedback from many clients, I have changed my tipping policy (10/2020). The cost of the session is the price listed - tipping is never expected. However I have decided to accept tips when a client feels motivated to do so, since many are doing that regardless of my policy anyway. If paying with a credit card Dave does ask the client to consider paying a 3.5% gratuity to offset his credit card processing fee. This generally comes out to $3 - $4. This gratuity is not mandatory.

CLIENT AND PRACTITIONER BEHAVIOR

Massage and bodywork is intimate by nature, and obviously requires close contact. Dave has cultivated very solid and straightforward boundaries to ensure the comfort of his client, as well as his own comfort. Although there may be times when Dave is working on soft tissue in proximity to genital areas or breast tissue, Dave will never touch or manipulate those sensitive areas, and will inform and ask the client if he may work near those areas. Appropriate draping will always be used. Further Dave realizes the trust and ethical standards necessary to host a private practice out of his home, and holds that responsibility at the highest regard. He is happy to provide references (from men or women) to speak to his character and behavior in the studio upon request.
